Summary: Remodel AI needs no account. Your photos are sent to our server and to OpenAI only to make your design or plan, and our server does not keep them. Your designs stay on your phone. We use Google Firebase to receive crash reports and anonymous usage statistics, so we can fix problems and improve the app. We have no ads, do not track you across other companies' apps, and never sell your information.
Welcome to Remodel AI ("we", "our", or "us"). Remodel AI is a mobile app that redesigns rooms and gardens from your photos with AI, and turns sketches, plans and descriptions into floor plans you can view in 2D, in 3D and walk through.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the app uses, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Remodel AI app for iPhone, iPad and Android and to the services behind it (together, the "Service").
No account needed: the app has no sign-up and no login. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number to use it.
Information you give us
- Photos you take or choose in the app: photos of rooms and gardens for a redesign, and photos, screenshots or drawings of floor plans
- Text you type, such as a description of the rooms you want or a note to the AI
- Your choices, such as the design style, the room type and the tool you use
- Reports you send about a picture: the reason you chose, any note you write, and details of that design (the tool, style and room, and the instructions given to the AI)
- Emails you send to our support address
Information collected automatically
- An installation ID: a random code the app creates the first time it runs and keeps on your phone. It is not your phone's advertising ID and is not linked to your name. We use it only to apply the daily limits on designs and plans
- Your IP address, used only for a short time to prevent abuse (for example, too many requests from one connection)
- Basic technical details sent with each request: the platform (iOS or Android), the app version and the app language
- Technical records of each request on our server: the time, the feature used and technical details of the result (for example, the AI model used or the number of rooms found). These records do not contain your photos
- Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics, by Google): if the app crashes, a report of what the app was doing (the code that failed, the device model, the system and app version, free memory and disk space) and a random ID for this installation
- App usage (Google Analytics for Firebase): which screens are opened, how long the app is used, the device model, system and app version, language, and approximate region (country or city, worked out from the IP address), with a random ID for this installation. We do not collect your phone's advertising ID
Information from others
- Your purchase and subscription status, from RevenueCat and the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your card or payment details
What we do not collect: we show no advertising, we do not read your phone's advertising ID, we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not collect your precise location, contacts or browsing history. Crash reports and usage statistics are not linked to your name or to any account.
We use information only to run and protect the Service:
- To create AI designs of your rooms and gardens from your photos and choices
- To read your sketch, plan or description and build your floor plan, its 3D model and walk-through
- To give free users their free designs, plans and walk-through, and to unlock Pro features after a purchase
- To apply fair daily limits and to prevent abuse and fraud
- To review pictures that are reported to us and to improve the quality and safety of results
- To find and fix crashes and errors (crash reports), and to understand which features are used so we can improve them (usage statistics)
- To answer your support emails
- To send you the daily design-idea reminders, if you allow notifications
- To meet our legal obligations
AI processing: to make a design or a plan, your photo and any text you typed are sent over an encrypted connection to our server and from there to OpenAI, whose AI creates the result. We do not use your photos to train AI models, and OpenAI does not use data sent through its API to train its models by default. OpenAI may keep this data for a limited time (normally up to 30 days) to detect abuse, under its own privacy policy.
- Your photos are sent to our server only while a design or plan is being made. Our server does not save your photos; they are deleted as soon as the request is finished
- Your designs, plans, 3D models, favourites and settings are stored only on your phone. We have no cloud copy of them
- If you delete a design in the app, or delete the app, those designs are removed from your phone. We cannot recover them for you
- A picture you report is described in the report (see § 1); the report is kept on our server so that we can review it
Tip: designs you want to keep can be saved to your photo library or shared from the app.
- Camera: to take a photo of a room, a garden or a floor plan. Only when you choose to take one
- Photos: to choose a photo from your library and to save designs to it. The app only reads the photos you pick
- Notifications: to send a daily design-idea reminder. These reminders are created on your phone; no push service receives your data. You can turn them off in the app's Settings or in your phone's settings
You can change these permissions at any time in your phone's settings. The app keeps working without them, except for the feature that needs them.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share information only with the service providers that help us run the Service, and only what they need:
- OpenAI: creates the AI designs and reads floor plans (your photo, your text and your choices for that request)
- Our hosting provider: runs the server that passes your request to OpenAI and keeps the technical records and reports described above
- RevenueCat: manages purchases and subscriptions with an anonymous app user ID
- Google (Firebase Crashlytics and Google Analytics for Firebase): receives the crash reports and usage statistics described in § 1, under Google's privacy policy and Firebase's data processing terms
- Apple and Google: process payments, app downloads and the in-app rating prompt
We may also disclose information if the law requires it (for example, a valid court order), to protect the rights and safety of our users or of others, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
- Photos: not kept on our server after your request is finished
- Usage counters for daily limits: removed automatically after a day (after an hour for some limits)
- Crash reports: kept by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days
- Usage statistics: kept by Google Analytics for 2 months at the level of single events (Google's default setting); after that only in summary reports
- Technical records and reports: kept only as long as needed to run, secure and improve the Service, and then deleted
- Support emails: kept as long as needed to help you
- Everything stored in the app stays on your phone until you delete it or the app
All communication between the app and our server uses encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Our server keeps no photos, the installation ID is stored in reports only in a scrambled (hashed) form, and access to our systems is restricted.
Note: no method of sending or storing data is 100% secure. We use reasonable safeguards but cannot guarantee absolute security.
- Payments are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never receive your card or payment details
- RevenueCat records which purchase you have so the app can unlock Pro features
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- You can manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings; deleting the app does not cancel it
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU and UK or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is wrong
- Delete your information
- Object to or restrict certain uses of it
- Receive a copy of it in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it (for example, notifications)
Because the app has no accounts and keeps your designs only on your phone, most of your data is already under your control. For any request, contact us at umairkhalidsidd@gmail.com. We will reply within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
We do not sell or "share" personal information as those words are defined under California law.
Remodel AI is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Our server and our service providers may be located in countries other than yours, including the United States and the European Union. When information is transferred, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses used by our providers.
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app or the law changes. We will change the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, for important changes, tell you in the app. Using the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
